Group rates start at $20 per student.
We offer weekly private lessons of 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute, depending on the age of the student and their grade level. We have highly qualified faculty instructors for students of all ages and abilities. The physical and mental benefits of playing music have long been recognized. The piano, in particular, has been an unparalleled outlet for those seeking escape, creative expression, and simply fun and joy.
Piano lessons are a popular traditional classical music choice for many people. Many students are also interested in popular, jazz, rock music and more. Combining styles is a great way to promote and sustain younger students, and we are happy to encourage exploring these interests while pairing it with the proven instructional methods (such as Alfred Basic Piano, Faber and Faber Piano Adventures, Leila Fletcher Piano Course, and Bastien Piano Basics) that have kept piano so popular with parents. Royal Conservatory of Music grades are also a popular course of study, and many students also challenge themselves by taking RCM examinations, which we delight in preparing them to gain confidence in achievement and performances. Students do not have to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple full-size electronic keyboard will suffice for the first 8 months. Our piano faculty teach students the fundamentals of sight reading, technique, theory, appropriate repertoire based on the student’s level in conjunction to music the student would like to learn into their lessons. For ages 4 to adult.
Violin is one of the most well-known stringed instruments. We have highly qualified faculty teaching in Violin, Suzuki Violin for individual and group chamber classes. Playing violin tends to improve student's concentration with improved attention span, focus and improved self-discipline. We use the Suzuki method and RCM curriculum. Beginner students start with the fundamentals, including correct bow hold and finger placement, rhythm, music notation, reading and learning simple songs. Intermediate and Advanced students develop increased proficiency in bowing skills, scales and arpeggios in all keys and registers, sound production techniques, fingering, vibrato, position changes, intonation, and musicianship of advanced repertories. Violin rentals are available at Tom Lee or Long and Macquade music stores to begin class. For ages 5 to adult.
GUITAR (ACOUSTIC OR ELECTRIC)/UKULELE
Research suggests that guitar players’ brains work a bit differently to everyone else. Some see this as a sly nod to the oddball genius of some of the masters. On the other hand, there is some physiological evidence here. The art of learning to play the chords and read sheet music opens up new neural pathways. Essentially, a guitarist does rewire their brain in a positive way which leads to all kinds of cognitive benefits. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons are available in a variety of different styles such as rock, pop, classical, r&b and more. Our teachers are here to help you and customize a lesson plan for you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to take out your guitar or ukulele and play your favorite songs to family and friends.
